Members of Britain’s far-left Green Party have voted in favour of the party declaring that “Zionism is racism” at its conference on Sunday, as the party continues to shift towards Islamic interests from its former focus on the environment.
\n\nAfter heavily courting the Islamic vote, which traditionally backed the governing left-wing Labour Party but which became disaffected during the Gaza war, the rank and file of the Green Party firmly planted their flag on the side of Islamo-populism.
\n\nAt their annual conference in Brighton on Sunday, a motion proposed by the Greens for Palestine group declaring that Zionism should be “treated as any other form of racism” was passed by members by a margin of 1,022 to 813, making it official party policy, the Times of London reported.
\n\nThe motion further claimed that Zionism is “based upon European settler-colonial systems of domination and oppression, which has also created racial hierarchies between Jews of different ethnicities in Palestine.”
