Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin touted the economic benefits of a secure border during a policy event with Breitbart News, noting that national security ultimately “brings more business” to the United States.
\n\nMullin addressed the leftist argument that the country needs mass migration for economic growth, particularly in light of the net negative migration numbers that the U.S. is seeing.
\n\n“Two things that you got to look at on mass migration that debunk that argument,” Mullin began, explaining that “national security brings more businesses because it brings stability than anything else.”
\n\n“Because if they know they can trust the government, they know they can be in a safe area. They know they don’t have to worry about their equipment being ripped off. They can know that their employees are going to be safe coming to and from work. They know that they might have employees that could pass a drug test and show up,” Mullin said, adding, “Having stability in law enforcement and security is the most important thing.”
