A vehicle collided with a wall panel at Jem’s basement carpark on the morning of Oct. 6, leaving a large hole in the panel near a lift lobby.
\n\nResponding to Mothership's queries, Lendlease, which manages the Jurong East shopping mall, said no injuries were reported.
\n\nA photograph posted on Reddit showed a large hole in a wall marked “Lift Lobby 1”, with debris scattered on the floor beneath it.
\n\nThe opening exposed part of the area behind the wall, where a travellator could be seen.
\n\nLendlease confirmed to Mothership that the collision occurred at the mall’s B2 carpark.
\n\nLendlease said its security and technical teams responded promptly to secure the area following the incident.
\n\nThe affected section has been temporarily cordoned off, while repair works are being carried out.
\n\n“The safety of our shoppers, tenants and staff remains our top priority,” it said.
\n\nLendlease added that operations at Jem were unaffected, and both the mall and carpark remain open as usual.
\n\nIts statement did not specify what led to the collision or when repairs are expected to be completed.
